Old Pages With New Scribbles (Update)

Yep this is an update just to update you that something is going to be updated, so that all things updated are up-to-date-d.

A new secret tab / link / clickadoohikkie has appeared on the navigation bar, guess it if you dare. Also, the Doodle Roll has now moved under Graphics. As in hover mouse over Graphics link on the navigation bar, and oooh what’s that, kinda under Graphics. Subsequently, the awaited long running Halo related thingy is still due and will begin with the pilot very soon. Several updates have been made to the site such as the new QR Code (Quick Response Code). For anyone thinking “quicka responso whatta codie”, it is a barcode that can handle large amounts of data (numbers and text), but can be scanned and decoded instantly. Therefore you can imagine over time companies have realise that they can use it for advertising. So if you have a smartphone with the capabilities to scan a QR Code (normally by downloading the app) or if you simply carry a barcode scanner everywhere you go then feel free to scan my QR now located on the sidebar and the “Who Am I?” page, DO IT, SCAN IT NOW! THEN GET TO THE CHOPPER!

Talking about the who am i page, i have heavily updated it to contain a bit more information on what i do and like, and from a professional point of view, all the software that i know for anyone who wishes to hire me *attempts to wink* blink blink. Summary below:

Update Summary:

New secret navigation link known currently as “error…x[23-189205]!
The Doodle Roll is now located in a drop down menu under “Graphics”, for conveniences sake
The awaited Halo thingy coming soon (preparing pilot)
QR Code located on website sidebar and “Who Am I?” page
Major update to “Who Am I?” page with new details about what i do and like, and more.

Thanks for reading, and remember to keep your faces on the screen.

Enter The Battle Grid

Video By Ratman7891 (Ratman7891 = Ratan Phamber ∴ Me)

I thought I’d start off with a video of it that i have made. That was also my first ever YouTube video, i know you’re thinking where has he been his whole life? Truth is i didn’t just want to put up videos of me breakdancing and breaking my back, but something useful and not embarrassing… like breaking my back. I don’t breakdance by the way. So what is this you ask? Well why don’t i tell ya? This is The Halo Battle Grid version 1.0 Custom Multiplayer Map for Halo: Reach. I went downloading for some maps and to my surprise there weren’t that many well thought of designs, with the exception of a few. So i like 3D design, so i thought why don’t i make one. Using the Forge World Map i was able to construct this Forerunner and Tron inspired boxed in arena, using up all $10,000 and bringing down many of my resource quantities to 0. The Map took me 30 hours to construct, refine and debug. This includes the time taken to add spawn points and test them so no one spawns outside the world and falls straight into their death which is the ocean. The Map is symmetrically designed and accurate down to the last 0.1 point of measurement.

Here are a few more screen shots showing it’s structure and symmetrically designed form. Now then, there are indeed a few interesting features possibly not seen anywhere else (well i haven’t seen them anywhere else) that i have incorporated into this map. One thing you’ll notice is the grid-like floor and ceiling, but this isn’t just a grid thrown in, the grid on the floor is actually situated just on the surface of the ocean, which therefore gives a shimmering feel to the floor. Trust me it looks much better standing on it than seeing it through a picture or video.

The second thing is the attention to structure and design, rather than just platforms your Spartan or Elite can walk on, which seems to be how most of the other Maps i have seen are build like. I wanted this to look as good as it is playable. Everything has been taken into account, including gameplay. I have tested weak spots, strength spots, high points and low points, even hiding spots or points where mass destruction can occur, however at the cost of your invisibility to others. The Battle Grid has been designed to be balanced.

Another awesome thing is the invention of this (picture above). This is a lift constructed of various pieces of Forerunner architecture and two one way shields. One side of a shield prevents access by pushing the player away, and the other side doesn’t just give access, but sucks in the player. Therefore by placing them inside this contraption with the accessible side down, if the player jumps up inside it they are immediately sucked up and pushed out of the top. Hence Lift. Much better making one than putting in a man cannon or teleporter.

And of course, there’s The Watcher. This is my little A.I. that lives in this prison, that guards the place making sure no one escapes. You might be thinking whaa? But yes making a story up as i build helps inspire to develop it better and in the way it has become. More pictures of this map can be seen on my Flickr Photostream under Halo: Reach Forge Maps (Link Below).

P.S. Of course those that know me, know that i wouldn’t just make something without a few secrets. Here’s a picture to help you and remember this can lead you to become the most powerful Spartan or Elite on the map…if you can get it.

Aliens and Aches

What a day. Woke up a with heart palpitations again but much stronger than usual and they continued throughout the day. I wondered why i was feeling like this until i realised, ah yes, that dream.

I dreamt i was an alien; walked on two legs and had long arms and a slightly elongated head. To be honest i looked pretty much like the Arbiter in Halo 2 and 3.The Arbiter from Halo 2 and 3 I was being hunted down by the humans until i realised that the war was all wrong and i was fighting for the wrong team. The dream wasn’t as lucid as they can be. Anyway i decided to tell the humans that i was on their side and how we together can defeat the aliens and their attack force but that they have something planned, something that can destroy the human race. With much of the dream missing, i next remember that i was faced with some flying aircrafts that i shot down with ease and then running to destroy the device threatening the human race. I dove in front of the device blasting it with some sort of EMP (Electro-magnetic Pulse) weapon and destroyed it but just when i had, i knew someone was aiming down at me to kill and in an instant i turned around and shot it. The alien was dead, as a straight shot went through it’s head. All the marines around me were cheering for me and humanity, until i noticed that i had been pierced by a bullet that seemed to look like a two pinned fork. Unfortunately for me it had been shot directly into my heart. Two pins joint to one fork-like bullet and little chance of missing my heart. I fell to the ground and before i knew it, i woke up.

Most of the time i wake up instantly after death. But the rest of my waking day was filled with heart palpitations every hour or so. Luckily they were softer as the day went on. Weird one, but very exhilarating and full of adrenaline. Thanks for reading and remember not all aliens are bad.
